Order of Meetings, Fall 2005

CALL TO ORDER: 5:15PM

PRESENT: President Clark, VP Tourison, Treasurer Ashmore, Secretary Narus, PBP Rep. Carlson, Independent Rep. Horning, Independent Rep. Fink, Independent Rep. Morrell, Independent Rep. Hann, Independent Rep. Anderson, XO Rep Scapino (filling in for Bryson), EX Rep. Heintz, Administration Rep. Katy Crissman

READING OF THE MINUTES FROM LAST MEETING (Secretary Narus)

OFFICER REPORTS:

President:

  • Tentative agenda for this meeting

Vice President:

  • $2,900 from Skip-A-Meal.  We need to vote on where to vote on what to do with this money.

Treasurer:

  • Nothing to report—pending on meeting with Katy Crissman

Secretary:

  • Parents’ Weekend Sign-Up update.  Read who was signed up as of 10/10.  President provided necessary details regarding the event.

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Elections: Nothing to report at this time.

Finance: See Treasurer’s report.

ITS: The internet is up and running!  President Clark asked Chair for a website and TA update.

New Ideas: David Morrell is elected as new New Ideas Chair in leave of Cody Strecker.  He inherits the idea of the box.

Philanthropy: Discussion regarding where the $2,900 will go.  Ideas include: David Morrell’s suggestion to give money to the dorms with the purpose of promoting the administration’s goal of improving student life/activities ($4,500 or approx $5/student to the dorms).  Andrew Fink’s idea of new bike racks.  Steve Tourison’s idea to give $1,000 to each Alpha Omega, Kid Connection, and Senior Center (Split the $2,900 three ways).  Motion to table this discussion was adopted.

Resolutions: Motion to kill the Resolutions committee was adopted.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

  • Steve Tourison is the new SAB reporter
  • President Clark will provide printed agendas in future meetings
  • Heintz and Hann are the accountability group assigned to keeping campus groups active and accountable
  • Proposals for new clubs: Ping Pong Club- accepted.

                                           Iota Sigma Pi- rejected.

                                           Students for Life- accepted.
