Abortion ban ruled unconstitutional
Legislation commonly known as Michigan’s partial birth abortion ban was ruled unconstitutional by U.S. District Judge Denise Page Hood in a Sept. 12 ruling from Detroit, marking the third time that state laws restricting the practice have been struck down in court.

20 drown when boat capsizes

The senior citizens’ fifth day on tour was supposed to include a leisurely cruise through the fall foliage around Lake George followed by a dinner and musical revue at the Georgian Resort in upstate New York. However, the group of one Ohio and 46 Michigan senior citizens would never make it to the resort that day and many would not make it through the day alive after a tragic boat accident.

Google Earth expands

Google Inc., the rapidly growing industry leader for Internet-based search engines, got more than it bargained for with the July 28 release of its free, Web-based, satellite imagery service, Google Earth.
