God bless us, every one!
With the holiday season now upon us, we at the Collegian are in an unusually generous mood. We realize we have much to be thankful for, and many gifts to bestow upon deserving folks, and many, many New Year's resolutions to be made. So in the spirit of the season, here are a few of our holiday thoughts:
THANKS : We are thankful to be living in America, and even more so to not be living in the radical Netherlands, where newborn euthanasia is now being considered for legalization.
GIFT : To Tom Brokaw for his accurate and careful news reporting since 1966. He will be missed by news junkies across the nation, and this Christmas we wish him many happy, slow days at his Montana ranch.
RESOLUTION : We resolve to use alcohol responsibly both on- and off-campus. Much has been made lately of the crack-down on alcohol on college campuses across the nation, and Hillsdale could easily be affected, especially after some recent incidents.
THANKS : To our brave men and women fighting overseas. Their tireless work and sacrifice is too often taken for granted, and we forget that a war is being fought and every day American soldiers are dying for freedom.
GIFT : To our wonderful, underappreciated faculty, we give the gift of a month free from us. Don't spend it all in one place.
RESOLUTION : We at the Collegian resolve to use our week free from the newspaper to study for finals like never before. We hope our wonderful, underappreciated professors take note...
THANKS : A special "Thank you" to all our readers. Your thoughtful criticisms and letters help make our newspaper a little better every week.
