Faculty, students respond to Bush agenda

Two days after his re-election, President Bush said his victory has given him "political capital" and that he intends to spend it. His domestic agenda for the second term reflects the boldness of his assertion, according to many at Hillsdale College.

Freshman English classes try new format

Most Hillsdale College students cite small class size as a positive on their pro and con list for choosing a college. This year, the English 101 class "Freshman Rhetoric and the Great Books I" has broken the traditional Hillsdale mold and experimented with a larger lecture style class similar to what students would find at a large state university.

Local gas stations suffer

Although gas prices have risen 42 cents in the past year, and gas stations in Hillsdale County sell approximately 100 million gallons of gasoline each year, local gas businesses haven't been seeing the profits.

 

Hunting season commences
Monday marked the kickoff of 15 days of madness-an annual whirlwind of guns, camouflage, bright orange vests and hunger for the kill that we call "deer season."
