New owners revamp Roxy

After five years of serving beer and providing entertainment to the campus and the community, co-owners of Hillsdale's nightclub, Roxy, are selling the establishment. Under new management this fall, the club will open with major changes aimed at the college demographic.

Police arrest man, issue MIPs at ATO house

A police visit to Hillsdale College on Saturday resulted in one arrest and four minor in possession tickets.

Two students share top spot in oratory contest, win $3,000

For the first time, two students shared the first place spot in the fourth annual Edward Everett Prize in Oratory last Thursday. Junior Jennica Slattery and sophomore Charles-Michael Berg were each given a prize of $3,000 for their persuasive speeches addressing the theme, "Alternatives to Public Education in America: Can They Deliver What They Promise?"

 

Feulner to address graduates

Usually the speaker for commencement is decided, signed and announced in early March, months before graduation.

This year the deal wasn't sealed until April 13, when President Larry Arnn's office contracted Edwin Feulner, president of the Heritage Foundation, Washington, D.C.'s leading think tank, to address the graduates, faculty and guests at commencement.
