Pi Beta Phi Cow Maneuver plots for sale

Tomorrow is the last day Pi Beta Phi will be selling local land plots in the Ethan Allen Room at lunch for their philanthropy, Cow Maneuver, with the proceeds going to the Special Olympics. Plots are $3 apiece or $5 for two. If the cow poops on your plot, you win $200 cash, and if the cow does his business adjacent to your plot, you win a prize. Many local businesses have donated prizes, including Oakley, Family Video, the Hunt Club, and Chicago Water Grill.

Monster Scholarships are offering $2,500

There is a $2,500 scholarship contest, sponsored by the Monster Scholarship programs. Visit http://www.scholars.monster.com for more information and an online application, then write a short essay about your first day on "the job that is waiting for you and your expertise." Deadline is March 19.

Sigma Alpha Iota concert tomorrow

The women of SAI will perform at 8 p.m. tomorrow in Phillips Auditorium.

Debate team sweeps tournament

The debate team grabbed the top sweepstakes trophy at the Central Debate Conference Tournament at Kenyon College in Ohio this past weekend.

At Kenyon, the teams of Victor Joecks/David Morrell (4 wins-2 losses), Kristal Korzon/Kyle Jackson (3-3), Josh McKinley/Andrew Dickerson (4-2), and Ben Sikma/Dan Greene (4-2) combined for a 15-9 record in achieving the top honor. Joecks/Morrell, McKinley/Dickerson and Sikma/Greene advanced to the four-team semi-finals, with Sikma/Greene and Joecks/Morrell seeded second and third, respectively. Among the top preliminary round speakers, Joecks was sixth and Greene was third.
