| Pi Beta Phi vehicles vandalized

When junior Allison Honsey's windsheild wipers didn't work Sunday morning, she got out of the car and realized the air had been let out of her tires and the windshield wipers on her new 2003 Saturn had been completely broken off.
Director of Security, Safety and Services Mike Wertz said 19 cars parked in the Pi Beta Phi parking lot were vandalized Sunday morning between 3:30 and 5 a.m.
All had the air let out of their tires, and some had their wipers broken off and antennas bent.
The incident is still under investigation, and Wertz said he would appreciate any leads students might have.
Chris Gutowski, Hillsdale Police director of public services, said they have no suspects in the case. He said that if the incident was a prank it would be better handled by the college than by a criminal court.
Honsey said she realized that the vandalism was probably a prank, but didn't understand why someone would do something like that intentionally—something that would cost a significant amount of money to repair.
Pi Beta Phi President Carly Dau said the girls most upset about the incident were those who had had their wipers broken off.
This is the most recent case of vandalism this year since a light post was pulled down over Parents Weekend, costing the college thousands of dollars.
“Lately it's been hard keeping up with the vandalism,” Rich Péwé, vice president of administration, said.
