Sigma Chi, campus raise money for kids

Derby Days supports the Children's Miracle Network

Dance routines set to today's top hits and cars crammed with 19 girls were just a couple of the events the men of Sigma Chi organized for Derby Days - their annual fundraiser for the Children's Miracle Network.
Sigma Chi sponsored different activities for both Greek and independent women to compete for points and to see which team could raise the most money.
The women of Alpha Xi Delta and Kappa Kappa Gamma tied for first place in the weeklong event.
"Although we don't have a definitive number yet, we're estimating we raised about $3,000," said Derby Days Coordinator Neal Buchanan. "My goal was for the girls to have fun and raise some money."
The Derby Days event is part of a national Sigma Chi program. The Children's Miracle Network depends on the money raised by chapters all over the country each year.
"Sigma Chi's donation to Children's Miracle Network continues to grow each year," said Katie Schrier, director of sponsor development at Children's Miracle Network. "They have raised over $3,000,000 to date for Children's Miracle Network hospitals."
