E. Lansing, Mich. - The Hillsdale women's track
team competed at the MSU Open last Saturday. Highlighting
the Chargers was junior Stephanie Carroll (Mt.
Pleasant, Mich.), who provisionally qualified
for the NCAAs with a time of 2:13.45 in the 800m.
Carroll earned All-America honors in the mile
during the indoor season.
Other top performers included:
800m
- Katie Smith ran an outdoor personal best at
2:19.82. BethAnn Lannen ran 2:27.76 for her first
800 ever.
1500m
- Three women had personal bests (Carrie Douglas
4:56.15, BethAnn Lannen 4:57.43, Shannon Stanglewicz
5:01.72) and Joanna Grille had a season best at
5:03.71.
400m
Hurdles - Tauna Blacquiere had a personal best
in the race at 1:03.79.
Shot
Put - Sara Monteleone had an outdoor PR at 41'3"
while Emily Sharp threw for a seasonal best 39'4".
Discus
- Senior Sarah Etchey tossed 108'2" for a
PR; Monteleone hit 122'9".
Hammer
- Double personal bests with Sara Monteleone at
135'10" and Robin Joecken at 128'7".
Emily Sharp (144'9") and Hillary Szajnecki
(124'11") had seasonal bests.
