Women's Indoor Track Has Top Performances at Eastern Michigan Invite

Ypsilanti, Mich. — The Hillsdale women's track team competed at the EMU Invite on Saturday, Jan. 17, recording many top performances. Hillsdale was led by four juniors, a senior and one sophomore, who all had solid marks at the meet.

Junior Candice Mulder had two personal bests, 58.50 in the 400m, good for second place, and 26.24 in the 200m. Her performance in the 400m betters her indoor personal record by over one full second. She currently sits fourth on the all-time top-10 list. Her performance in the 200m also betters her personal best by over a full second and moves her up to third all-time on the list.

Junior Stephanie Carroll placed second in the 3000m with a personal best time of 10:30.52.

Junior Sara Monteleone placed sixth in the shot with a throw of 40' 0.75" and also threw 44' 2.75" in the 20-lb. weight, which moves her up to fourth on the all-time top-10 list.

Junior Katie Simmons placed fifth in the 60m hurdles (9.61). Her preliminary time of 9.52 was a personal record.

Senior Tauna Blacquiere placed third in her first-ever Pentathlon. Her score of 3023 is third all-time at HC and puts her within 200 points of the school record, which she will attempt to break again later in the season.

Sophomore Lindsey Stevens tied for fifth in the pole vault (10'11.75").
