The Hillsdale College Women’s Track and Field team traveled to The University of Findlay Alltel Indoor Track and Field Classic Friday, January 28 and 29, 2000.The ladies competed against teams from all around the Midwest and finished with some top performances.Senior Maryea Pike ran an outstanding 59.20 to finish 2nd overall in the 400 meter run.Jenna Soccorsi followed her with a time of 1:01.45.Freshman Emily Phillips had a great weekend for the Chargers also.Emily finished 6th (2.27.20) in the 800-meter run and 7th (5:26.17) in the 1 mile run.Sophomore Jessica Warner had three strong events as she ran the 200-meter dash in 30.51 seconds, pole vaulted 2.45 meters (8’ ½’’), and long jumped 4.57 meters (15’).In the 600-meter dash, the Lady Chargers placed 3 individuals in the top 13.Tara Shamey took 7th (1:41.56), while Tanya Eaton-Fraser (1:45.52) Nancy Shipley (1:45.60) finished back-to-back at 12th and 13th.Anna Webster ran strong for Hillsdale in the 800-meter run (2:32.70) and the mile run (5:35.90).Stephanie Algera threw the shot put 39’8’’ and took 13th in the highly competitive field.Others who had great days for the Lady Chargers were Laurie Causseaux (1 mile and 800 meters), Katy Gnaedinger (1 mile and 3000 meters), Amy Soper (400 meters and 1000 meters) and Christine Freeman (1000 meters and 1 mile).Trudy Chase (18:56.00) and Kristin Warner (19:35.10) both had good times in the 5000-meter run.The Lady Charger relay teams had very impressive relay times.The 4x400 meter relay team took 7th (4:12.41).The Distance Medley Relay team took 3rd (12:38.00).The 4x800 meter relay team (9:37.31) had a great time and took second.
