Hillsdale
Women's Swimming Finishes Sixth at GLIAC Championships;
Patterson Wins 200 Fly
The
Hillsdale women's swimming team placed sixth at
the 2005 GLIAC Championships, held at Wayne State
in Detroit on Feb. 16-19.
Freshman
Tyler Patterson led the team with a first place
finish in the 200 fly with a pool record time
of 2:09.84. The previous pool record was set in
1996 by Northern Michigan. Patterson also placed
third in the 200 IM (2:13.15) and 400 IM (4:42.00).
Junior
Cylie Hoopingarner had three second place finishes
- in the 200 back (2:08.18), 100 fly (59.27) and
100 back (59.77), which was one of three to break
the pool record, which she set on Friday, Feb.
18.
Julia
Parsons also had a fourth place finish in the
1000 free with a time of 10:52.23, which was an
NCAA "B" qualifying mark.
