Men's Indoor Track Competes at Red Simmons Invite; Cody Senkyr Breaks School Record in 60m Hurdles

Ann Arbor, Mich. — The Hillsdale men's track team traveled to U of M on Saturday (1/24) for the Red Simmons Invitational and came up with some strong performances in the field and on the track.

Sophomore Cody Senkyr (Clarkston, Mich.) set a new school record in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.57 and finished seventh in the finals. Senkyr's new mark erases the old record of 8.61, set by Ryan Krugh in 2000.

Other top 10 finishers on the track were Gordon Fisher, who led the way by finishing (4th) 8:40.29 in the 3000m, which was followed by Kyle Fujimoto (9th) 8:47.31 and Matt Wish (10th) with a time of 8:48.21.

Joel Clark and Scott Kallgren finished seventh in each of their events. Clark ran the 200m (23.27) and Kallgren in the Mile at (4:24.66). In the field, Jon Bromley threw a lifetime best in the 35-lb. weight throw at 50'10" (9th). Other lifetime bests for the Chargers came in the 600 - Cody Senkyr (1:28.66), Scott Keenan (1:29.18) and Dustin Mann (1:34.17). Tim Sayers also ran a five second personal best in the 3000 (8:56.00).
