Jan. 17, 2004
Ypsilanti, Mich. — The Hillsdale men's track team performed well at the EMU Invite last Saturday. The Chargers were highlighted by junior Joel Clark of Warren, Mich., who broke the school record in the 60m with a time of 7.19. The time was a lifetime best for Clark.

Freshman Harvey Hyman (pole vault) and sophomore Charles Henry (high jump) both cleared bars (13-0.25 and 6-1.5 respectively).

On the track, Clark's 60m time erased the previous record set six years ago by Jason Ross (7.23, 1998). Sophomore Cody Senkyr, a finalist in the 60m high hurdles, ran a lifetime best of 8.62, which is only one-hundredth of a second off the school-record.

Other top eight finishers were senior Steve Larson, who won the 3000m (8:32.71), and two freshmen, Matt Wish, who ran a lifetime best in the 3000m (8:54.76, 6th) and Tim Sayers, who was a runner-up in the slow section, running a lifetime best of 9:01.5. In the mile, junior Michael Nikkila ran a 4:19.12, good for a seventh place finish.
