Larson Sets Pace for Hillsdale Men's Track at Division II Challenge in Saginaw

University Center, Mich. — Senior Steve Larson set a meet record, while provisionally qualifying for the NCAAs after winning the Mile with a time of 4:12.78 at the Division II Challenge at Saginaw Valley State on Saturday, Feb. 7. The time, which was a personal-best for Larson, ranks him in the top 15 nationally.

The Hillsdale men's track team also had two other competitors win their events as junior Kyle Fujimoto won the 5000m (15:09.13) and sophomore Scott Kallgren tied for first in the 3000m (8:50.66) with GVSU's Blake Terhune.

The Chargers had a total of 18 top-10 finishes at the Division II Challenge with six coming in the mile.

HC will host the Hillsdale Invitational on Feb. 13.
