11 Men's Cross Country Finishes Second at GLIAC Championships

Mich. — The Hillsdale College men’s cross country
team finished second among 12 teams at the GLIAC Championships,
held at Kensington Park in Milford, Mich. on Saturday
(hosted by Wayne State).
The
Chargers tallied 51 points, which fell nine points short
of first-place Grand Valley (42 pts.). Ashland finished
third overall (60), while Wayne State placed fourth
(93) and Michigan Tech fifth (175).
Senior
Steve Larson (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) was HC’s top finisher,
placing second overall with a time of 25:04.8. Senior
Randy Scherer (Marshall) and freshman Scott Kallgren
(Trenton) also recorded top 10 finishes with Scherer
placing eighth (25:33.4) and Kallgren 10th (25:33.9).
