Hillsdale's Men's Cross Country team fought a field of 22 teams to place 9th at the Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championships. The 10K race was run at Missouri Southern in Joplin, Missouri. With temperatures approaching 80 degrees, an added element of concern faced each runner. The Chargers were led by KEVIN BLACQUIERE (Zeeland, MI/Zeeland). BLACQUIERE placed 10th overall with a time of 32:45 to earn a spot on the All-Region team. He was also a top individual finisher, just missing a chance to qualify for the Nationals. Rounding out the top five for the Chargers were ERIC HOUGHTON (Cedar, MI/Traverse City) with a time of 34:13, DAVE FRIEDRICH (Grand Rapids, MI/Caledonia) with a time of 34:43, STEVE LARSON (Cedar Springs, IA/Xavier) with a time of 34:50, and JARED MAXWELL (Holly, MI/Holly) with a time of 35:18. NICK RORICK (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead) finished in 36:11 and VINCE BLUM (Saline, MI/Saline) finished in 36:59. The Chargers had a great season as they re-claimed the GLIAC Conference title and made this 9th place finish.
