Two weeks in a row, the Hillsdale Men's Cross Country team had a nice pack, with their top 5 (even Top 7) runners this week it was KEVIN BLACQUIERE at the front of the Charger pack, running a lifetime best for 8k 25:30. BLACQUIERE finished 11th overall in the team scoring running against a tough EMU and MSU group--many of the top "unattached" runners were former stars from both of those schools. Hillsdale had only a 36 second spread from 1-5 and only a 1 minute spread from 1-7. All of the Chargers' top 7 runners ran personal bests on the fast MSU course. BLACQUIERE is the Charger "Runner of the WEEK" and his name will be submitted as a nominee for the "GLIAC Runner of the WEEK."
The Chargers will compete next week at the "Jeff Drenth" Cross Country Invitational at Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, MI on Saturday, September 25 at 11:00 am.
Kevin Blacquiere has been named GLIAC Men's Cross Country-of-the-Week for his performance last week.
Blacquiere, a sophomore from Zeeland, MI (Zeeland HS), placed 11th in scoring at the Spartan Invitational to help lead the Chargers to a 3rd place finish behind Division I teams, Eastern Michigan and Michigan State. Blacquiere's time was 25:30 on the 8K course as he was 1st among Hillsdale's runners this past week.
