The Chargers ran a strong meet on the flat, winding course at Central Michigan University, but fell to the Chippewas in the Jeff Drenth Memorial Dual Meet. Hillsdale was once again led by sophomore KEVIN BLACQUIERE (Zeeland, MI/Zeeland) with a time of 26:15 in the 8K race. BLACQUIERE's time was good for 7th overall. Running second for the Chargers with a time of 26:39 was freshman STEVE LARSON (Cedar Springs, IA/Xavier). Finishing out Hillsdale's top five were ERIC HOUGHTON (Cedar, MI/Traverse City), 26:46, DAVE FRIEDICH (Grand Rapids, MI/Caledonia), 26:50, and DAVE PRESSGROVE (Baldwin City, KS/Baldwin), 26:51. LARSON was named the Charger "Runner of the Week" and will be submitted as a nominee for the "GLIAC Runner of the Week."
Hillsdale travels to Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, October 2 before hosting the "state-wide" Michigan Intercollegiate at Mill Race Golf Course in Jonesville on Friday, October 8.
